The Most Romantic Restaurant in Positano

There is so much good food in Positano, and Italy in general, with nearly all restaurants serving homemade pasta and pizza, and fresh seafood. Ultimately, my favorite restaurant during our time in Positano was perfection beyond food, but also ambiance, location, views, waitstaff: La Sponda at hotel Le Sirenuse.

It is by far the most beautiful, romantic setting for a restaurant I’ve ever experienced. We went early for cocktails on the patio of the outdoor pool bar to watch the sunset. Le Sirenuse sits on a hill above the town of Positano and I could not have asked for a more perfect spot to watch the sunset. We then had dinner in the main restaurant, La Sponda. Once the sun has set, the restaurant barely turns any lamps on, but instead lights hundreds of candles.

The food, of course, was incredible to say the least. We ordered several courses but were also treated to gifts from the chef as well. If you’re looking for a one-of-a-kind, unforgettable experience, La Sponda is it. If you’d prefer something less pricey, I recommend skipping dinner and simply going for drinks at the pool or champagne bar to enjoy the setting.

For late-night goers, try Francos, an al fresco terrace also part of Le Sirenuse. Unfortunately we were in Positano too early in the season and they hadn’t opened yet - Francos is open May through October. I recommend checking it out if you visit during that time!

Maybe next time I’ll stay at the hotel Le Sirenuse - what a dream!
