How to Make a Matcha Latte at Home
Matcha is always my caffeine preference over coffee. Compared to coffee, I find matcha gives me longer-lasting and less jittery energy.
On top of that, matcha is packed with antioxidants and is rich in vitamins and nutrients like fiber, Vitamin C, Vitamin A, zinc, and magnesium.
Not all matcha is the same though. The matcha at Starbucks, for example, is a “Matcha Tea Blend” that is loaded up with 28 grams of sugar per serving! I was drinking that before finally looking up the nutritional information online. I will not be ordering that, or the Starbucks Chai Latte (42g of sugar!) again.
The great thing about matcha is you can make it with kitchenware that you already have. You can use a frother or traditional bamboo whisk to perfect it, but that’s totally optional.
I like to split my latte with 2/3 milk and 1/3 water if I’m having it in the morning with a light breakfast, but you can play with that ratio depending on how creamy or light you want your latte to be. I also add collagen peptide powder to mine, but this is optional.
Here is the easy way to make a matcha latte at home without any fancy equipment.
